Heart & Oak Therapy · Online Counselling Sessions Across Canada
Real support, wherever you are in Canada
You don't have to live near our Victoria office to work with us. Through online counselling in Canada, our Registered Clinical Counsellors offer secure, confidential sessions for individuals and couples who are ready to feel like themselves again.
Distance shouldn't stand between you and the help you need
Getting the right support shouldn’t depend on where you live. At Heart & Oak Therapy, our online counselling in Canada makes it easier to connect with a qualified therapist, wherever you are, and whenever you’re ready to begin.
Whether you’re working through anxiety, navigating relationship challenges, or facing a difficult life transition, our online couples counselling sessions are designed to offer the same level of care, depth, and professionalism as in-person therapy. The focus isn’t just on talking, it’s on helping you gain clarity, build communication skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.
When you work with a therapist online through Heart & Oak Therapy, you can expect a structured yet flexible approach that respects your time, your comfort, and your goals. Each session is tailored to your needs, so you leave with more than just insight; you leave with the tools you need to create change.
"Every session is built around one thing: helping you feel genuinely better. Not just coping, but actually better."
ABOUT OUR ONLINE THERAPY
Meet Our Counsellors
At Heart & Oak Therapy, our team of compassionate and highly trained professionals is dedicated to providing thoughtful, client-centred care. Each counsellor brings a strong academic background, professional credentials, and a genuine commitment to helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence.
Our counsellors, Laura Brown and Will Bratt, are Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs) with Master's degrees in counselling psychology, and are members of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. This ensures that every session is grounded in ethical, evidence-based practices and delivered with professionalism and care.
With experience supporting concerns such as anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, low self-esteem, and life transitions, our team takes a collaborative and personalized approach to therapy. Rather than a one-size-fits-all method, sessions are tailored to your unique experiences, helping you gain deeper insights, develop practical tools, and move forward in a meaningful way.
At the core of our work is a belief that therapy should feel safe, respectful, and empowering, giving you the space to explore your thoughts openly while being supported by qualified professionals who truly listen and understand.
OUR ONLINE SERVICES
Therapy that meets you where you are
We work with individuals and couples across British Columbia and beyond. Here's where we can help.
Online Individual Counselling
Anxiety, burnout, grief, self-worth struggles, or major life transitions can feel heavy to carry alone. In online individual counselling, you speak with a licensed therapist in a private space where you can work through what you’re dealing with, build more effective tools and skills, and move toward emotional stability at your own pace.
Online Relationship Counselling
Feeling more like roommates than partners? Couples can use online relationship counselling to talk through ongoing issues, improve communication, and rebuild emotional connection with support from a Registered Clinical Counsellor.
Online Marriage Counselling
Marriage is one of the most significant relationships in your life, and one of the most vulnerable. Online marriage counselling at Heart & Oak Therapy isn't about sitting in judgment. It's about helping you and your spouse find a way back to each other, with tools you can count on long after the sessions end.
Couples Therapy Online
Couples therapy isn’t just for emergencies—it’s for any relationship looking to grow stronger. Participating in our online couples counselling sessions can improve communication, resolve ongoing frustrations, and help you invest in a healthier, more connected partnership.
WHY ONLINE THERAPY WORKS
It's not a compromise. It's genuinely effective.
Some people assume that seeing a therapist online is the 'lesser' option, something you settle for when you can't make it in person. The research tells a different story. Studies consistently show that video therapy produces outcomes comparable to face-to-face sessions for most concerns, including anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties.
It also provides convenience, consistency, and access, which is important, especially in a country as geographically spread out as Canada.
Why clients choose online therapy:
No travel, no time lost. Log in from your living room, your car, or any private place. Sessions fit around your life, not the other way around.
Access to the right fit, not just the nearest one. You deserve a counsellor whose style actually clicks with you. Online removes geography from the equation.
Secure and fully confidential. Our platform uses encrypted video to keep your sessions completely private.
Consistent care, even when life gets busy. Travel, illness, or a chaotic schedule won't mean missing sessions.
Equally effective for couples. Both partners can join from the same space or from separate locations, whichever feels more comfortable for an honest conversation.
HOW IT WORKS
Three steps to feeling better
1. Book your first session
Choose a counsellor whose background and approach fit with you, then select a time that actually works. Booking the first session takes about 3 minutes.
2. Show up and open up
You'll connect via secure video from wherever you are. Your counsellor will take the time to really understand what you're dealing with, no rushing, and no awkward forms to fill out mid-session.
3. Build your path forward
Together, you'll create a plan that's specific to your situation. Not a template, a real, workable approach that fits your life and gets to the root of the issue.
“He helped me look at my life differently. I went in thinking I was a weirdo and left feeling like someone who was just lost. He helped me find my confidence again.”
You've been waiting long enough. Let's start here.
Whether you're working with an online therapist for low self-esteem, navigating a rough patch in your relationship, or simply feeling like something needs to shift, we're ready when you are. No referral required.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Q1: Do I need to be in Victoria to book a therapy session with Heart & Oak Therapy?
Not at all. We offer online sessions to clients across British Columbia and Canada. All you need is a private space and a decent internet connection.
Q2: Can we do couples sessions online if we're in different locations?
Yes. Each partner can join from their own device, which can actually make it easier to speak honestly. Many couples find that the slight separation helps reduce tension in the room.
Q3: Is online therapy covered by insurance?
Many extended health plans cover sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor, whether in-person or online. We recommend checking your policy directly. We're happy to provide receipts in the formats most providers accept.
Q4: How do I know which counsellor is right for me?
Take a look at our team page to get a feel for each counsellor's approach and personality, or reach out, and we'll point you in the right direction.
Q5: What if I've never done therapy before?
That's more common than you'd think. For this reason, we’re happy to offer a free 20-minute consultation so you can move ahead with confidence and comfort.
